THE VESSEL SERIES

This is a recent group of cloth compositions in which variable combinations of a single visual ‘gesture’ embody expressions of spiritual space. Inspired by the Kabbalistic concept of tikkun olam, in which humankind,, partners with the divine in sustaining the return of dispersed divine, creative energy in the universe. The kelipah or vessel is a symbol of this ongoing spiritual effort, which tradition teaches, sustains the continuity and balance of the universe.
